Williams Ross Architects completed a space with more cohesion at Salesian College’s Student and Administration Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
The new Student and Administration Centre at Salesian College Chadstone built in 2019, brings key student services together. The extension creates a new front door to the College and brings previously disparate areas of the school organisation together.
The building creates a clear sense of entry with the reception aligning with the existing campus entry gates and views into the College courtyard.
The brick facade edged with black steel and the feature wrought iron Crucifix over the entry void are reminiscent of materials on the existing campus.
The centre creates a welcoming, light-filled foyer that leads to the existing College courtyard. The energy efficient building uses light filled spaces and natural ventilation and improve connections and access into the existing 2-storey facility behind.
