Simple but strong gestures guided the renovation of this early XX century apartment in the center of Città Studi in Milan. A wide opening between two rooms allowed to enlarge the living area which overlooks the street while the old kitchen, facing the silent internal courtyard, has left space for the bedroom.
Discovering a beautifully preserved floor in decorated terrazzo tiles under recent cladding has been the crowning of a process of recovery and exaltation of the specific historical elements of the apartment such as floors, ornaments and frames. In the living area a band of a strong green color defines the spaces designed for the kitchen, while the warm color of the walls and the continuous floor in tobacco color resin in the sleeping area establish a discreet dialogue with the existing finishes.
