The West Farms redevelopment plan revitalizes an underutilized manufacturing district in the Bronx, well-served by mass transit, schools, parks and open space. The proposed development will provide 11 blocks of affordable and workforce housing with retail and community facilities to serve the existing and growing community. Working with a team of private developers, planners and environmental consultants, Dattner Architects met with city agencies, elected officials and community groups to develop the plan and guide the proposal through NYC’s Uniform Land Use Review Process. This resulted in the largest private rezoning ever in the Bronx. The first phase is now open, providing homes for 237 New Yorkers, and the second phase is under construction.
