A former vivarium is now the home of the collective offices of the Moffitt Cancer Center. The renovation consolidates a number of previously isolated core labs, including Flow Cytometry, Proteomics, Molecular Genomics and Translational Research. Through the concept of a“Showcase for Science,”the project utilizes glass lab fronts and an open circulation spine to facilitate collaboration as well as serve as tour route for recruits and donors. Each science“neighborhood”is a storefront along this avenue, with each featuring folded planes emulating elegant roll-up shutters that allow for individual identities within the shared space.
