The art room of Nuwon High School was aging, and there was a lot of inconvenience in teaching due to insufficient storage space. While improving the aging space, the separated spaces are integrated to enable efficient education and learning activities. The insufficient storage space is filled so that students' works could be displayed.
The art room on the third floor could not be entered until passing through the hallway. The work is hung on the wall of the hallway to make it a space for exhibition. The entrance to the hallway is made to give the impression of entering the exhibition hall.
When you open the door of the art room, you will see another small hallway, and this place is also made like an exhibition hall, such as putting the work on a shelf by the window or hanging the work on the wall, so that the exhibition naturally connects from the hallway outside to the hallway inside. The wall outside the studio that appears after passing through the hallway is finished with a whiteboard so that you can take notes or attach works with magnets. The third floor is located in two places. The wall around the sink at the back of the classroom is finished with stainless hairline so that magnets could also be used here.
The space where water can splatter at the sink is finished with tiles like the first floor to prevent the wall from getting wet.
On one side of the classroom, there is a rest area in navy. It is planned as a place where students could gather, discuss, and chat freely.
All the windows are made up for the insufficient storage space by making up for the lack of storage space, and the work could be displayed on the top.
On the other side of the navy space, a bar table was arranged to provide a space where you think quietly by yourself. The teacher's seat is placed next to the bar table to secure the view of the students looking at the blackboard.
A warehouse is created to store artworks by creating a space between the blackboard and the wall. A cabinet with doors and a shelf without doors could be used to store various types of artworks and art tools. A paper storage box is also placed to facilitate paper storage. The wall with the board covered the warehouse, making it possible to create a clean art room.
The art room on the first floor lacked storage space, so art tools were left on a window table. The walls were painted in various colors. It was a hectic space for class, and the students' works were not noticeable. In order to focus on the students' works, the colors of the art room are dark and calm.
The ceiling, walls, and floors of the teacher's space in front of the classroom are finished with deep navy blue, and students' works are hung on the blackboard to make them stand out. In one corner of the existing art room, there was a kiln for baking ceramics. Among these deep navy blue spaces, a kiln is placed in the window to bake ceramics and a navy angle cabinet is placed to store works.
The sink for washing the brush was also old and unorganized. The sink is replaced and tiles are attached to the wall to make it suitable for water use. The area around the sink is finished with a wood sheet to give a warm feeling, and the cabinets are placed next to the sink so that the artwork could be stored immediately.
In the window, a cabinet adjusted to the height of the window is produced. On the top of the cabinet, the work made by students could be displayed. The back of the classroom is filled with a cabinet. The storage cabinet and air conditioner are built-in to make the art room accessible neatly. The large desk, which occupies most of the center of the classroom, is dark gray, giving a calm feeling.
