Situated in Patiala, Punjab, Dr Bharti's Medikidz hospital is strategically located at Rajbaha Road on a 550 sq. Yard plot in the midst of the city. Designed by the architecture firm J.B. Architects & Associates, the 40 bedded advance multi-speciality paediatric hospital is planned to cater to the growing demand for good Paediatric healthcare facilities in Patiala and beyond.
The 15000 sq. Ft expanse of the hospital is planned on three floors with Out-Patient Departments, Emergency rooms and pharmacy on the Ground floor, Special Rooms, Labs, Wards and NICU on the upper floors, whereas an operating theatre on the top floor. Operating distances are minimised using compact planning with quick and easy vertical communication.
Having a pleasant and child-friendly environment with Novel facilities, the hospital is an example of contemporary progressive design. Exteriorly, the façade is distinguished by a combination of Tinted Glass, Aluminium composite panels and granite stone creating an identifiable character within its surroundings. The tinted glass prevents the interiors from receiving harsh sunlight without compromising on the daylight thus keeping the interior spaces naturally lit throughout the day.
Interiors of the Landmark Building having Double height Entrance lobby and waiting is designed in a way to achieve well-defined circulation for patients, doctors, visitors & services. The entrance lobby and waiting lounge are designed with utmost priority to the kids’ experience making the area lively and comforting.
The dedicated play zone for kids makes the waiting space and the lobby more vibrant. The architecture of the building manages to achieve a feeling of spaciousness and generosity within a limited amount of space. The neutral colour palette of the scheme because of its splendid luminosity amplifies the openness by the ample amount of natural light entering the space.
The Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is equipped with 16 advanced high-frequency ventilators and is endowed with soft hues, blinds and textures to reduce anxiety amongst the children; while the OPDs are customised with soothing and complimenting textures creating a mellow experience for the patients. This comprehensive nature of the healthcare facility hence improves physical, visual, and psychological interactions.
