The commercial room located in a building from the 80's was partially renovated to house a new function: A nutrition office. The room, which measures approximately 32.00 m², was already divided into two parts – a waiting area and a service area. In both parts, the laminate flooring was maintained and the project was developed from the existing premises.
The plaster wall that divides the two parts of the room has gained new openings. The door had its height increased up to the ceiling and a side opening was created that allows the visualization of the service room to the waiting room.
The waiting space gained movement with fabric-covered PVC tubes, which were applied to the main wall in front of the seats, contributing to the acoustics of the space and the visual dynamism of the area that does not have openings to the outside. A small illuminated totem with the brand was positioned in front of the access door to identify the office and also contribute to indirect lighting.
Throughout the room, the walls and ceiling were covered with a light gray cement-type paint. The furniture follows the same tones with the presence of green points of vegetation and the sofa, which is the protagonist of the space.
As consultations last for a long time, the entire space was designed so that users would feel welcomed and with the perception of being at home. In the service room, the curved sofa seeks to welcome the patient, providing a more relaxed sitting, thus creating an informal and close dialogue between users. Next to the service table, there is a support that serves as a coffee and an area for preparing small snacks, which can be used at the time of the consultation. The living area is bathed in natural light by a large floor-ceiling window that faces a tree-lined city square.
