Transition State Design has realized the office design for the Fimi Group, an entertainment marketing agency located in Los Angeles, California.
Based in West Hollywood, CA, FIMI Group is a strategic entertainment marketing agency founded by Brian Chirigos. The LA-based Transition State Design team was referred to the company by a mutual friend and was later enlisted to complete a total office renovation in just two short months.
The space was a retrofit of an existing 2nd floor loft style suite, which once served as a church. The building’s beautiful exposed rafters provided a key starting point for the client’s desired vibe – an NYC loft meets a laid back West Coast vibe, juxtaposed with street art to make a bold statement. By cladding the main office wall with brick, incorporating new flooring, pendant lighting, and black accents, Transition State was able to transform the space and build upon the original loft aesthetic with an industrial flare. Furniture was kept neutral and textural in order to achieve a sophisticated, yet relaxed feel for employees and guests. The design-trio also designed custom blackened oak desks, paired with aged leather task chairs for the open and private offices to allow for the range of graffiti/street art curated from galleries across the United States to have individual moments throughout.
Prior to the redesign, the space didn’t have a proper reception or functional entrance, so Transition State reimagined the suite to include a custom entry kitchen/communal area for employees to enjoy upon entering the workspace. The Transition State team’s love for black on black and statement stones shows itself in the space’s kitchen. By opening the surrounding walls and creating a waterfall edge using Nero Marguina marble, a central gathering place was born.
