TATERNIK Mountain Shop has opened its latest surface area of a brick and mortar sports store – the footwear department designed by Banach Architekci. Five windows of the shop display from Szkolna street - the most-popular walking route in Poznań, situated between the Old Market Square and the Old Brewery, present mountain hiking boots in action.
The design of store equipment assumes the division of the single-space interior of the sales room into smaller areas, thus facilitating customer access to the product range. Shelves, shop gondolas and counters, which are typical for store interior design, have been replaced with high openwork partitions with embedded shoe shelves.
The partitions have been located along a stone path meandering through the middle of the sales room. It plays the role of an element intended for testing footwear in conditions resembling those we can come across on the mountain trail. The soft and dynamic structure of the store's interior design refers to the variability and organic forms found in nature. The arrangement of shop lighting also underlines the expressiveness of mountain and trekking activities.
Despite the fact that the product range sold in Taternik can be used in many outdoor circumstances, in terms of materials, the equipment and decor of the store refers to the mountain environment, which is indispensably connected with the brand identity.
The metal elements of the shop furniture have been finished with natural rust, while the walls have been covered with natural stone veneer - a combination often found on the via ferrata routes. The store furniture intended for sitting and trying on shoes has been finished with natural oak veneer and velor fabrics.
