METAMORPHOSIS
'Metamorphosis' is an installation developed by Vítor Leal Barros for the IPP (Instituto Politécnico do Porto) stand at the fair 'Qualifica 2015', Exponor - Matosinhos.
This project aims to respond to the client’s assumptions (openness, information and design), while also involving the visitors in the stand construction. The stand is a metaphor of the IPP’s principles (to provide the knowledge and scientific tools that are essential for a quality education) so the students are invited to actively participate in the construction of the stand, through the placement of PVC tubes on the floor, which is identified with the colors of the different schools that constitute the institution.
The gradual construction of this stand offers the visitors different spatial experiences along the 'Qualifica 2015', culminating in the construction of a contextual landscape that results from the free appropriation of the space by the students. The final form of the 'Metamorphosis' is a natural consequence of the will of the users and not a design imposed by the project.
