After outgrowing its previous Newport Beach headquarters, this investment firm sought a space that would attract top talent and communicate its status in the financial services industry. The firm chose a central and highly visible 21-story building that it could occupy fully. To meet the client’s goals, Gensler developed an internal website during the design process to keep staff informed and solicit feedback, which resulted in previously unplanned amenities and helped guide the overall design. Rich wood paneling and the firm’s characteristic deep blue color form a warm and classically upscale workplace—in synch with the local beach culture, while remaining true to the company’s conservative roots.
