engels architektur was tasked with the office design for global beauty company, L’Oréal, located in Muggensturm, Germany.
The biggest distribution center of L’Oréal worldwide, which is CO² neutral, was opened in May 2019 in Muggenstrum near Karlsruhe.
Therefore, Engels Architektur have created a sustainable and open green office with 180 workplaces spread over two office buildings. The demands on soundscape were important because the office is used by costumer services and other noisy sections.
They designed an open office area with variable options for short meetings, quiet zones, think tanks and silent workplaces.
Around the workplaces they have arranged big moss walls and room dividers with fabrics and plantsto absorb acoustic noises.
Likewise, the material and colour concept is adapted to the character of this L’Oréal location.
