Nina Lindgren
is a 25-year-old artist and designer from Stockholm, Sweden. She has a great interest in traveling. Apart from spiritual designs, you can also see on her website a large number of wonderful photos taken during traveling. In summer of 2012, she visited China with her boyfriend and took collections of pictures illustrating Chinese life and landscapes.

北京

通过她的镜头，我看见了一个熟悉的北京，有几年的时间我生活工作在北京的二环以内，这里没什么高楼。人尺度得让人落泪，很多街道都有一种上世纪的感觉。至于胡同，虽然变化着，但除了那庸闹的几条，还是有挺多的胡同在安静中破败着，也焕发着生机。我常常在周末可以步行9–10公里，不用穿过人行天桥和大马路，就像是在一个小城中。那脏兮兮的水果蔬菜店几乎是每条胡同小巷的必备。至于相片中的那条破烂的水果街，那不是交道口么。二环的环城公园大概是北京游人密度最合适的公园了，有人玩儿，但从来不挤，而且没有广场舞，同时铺装和植物都在北京城的公共免费公园中算上乘。还有相片带着孩子的妇女手中的龙文教育拎包，实在是很常见，虽然不知道龙文教育是干什么的，但他无疑在日常街头拥有较高的出镜率。北京，熟悉却又陌生。
I see a familiar Beijing from her photos. I had lived in the region within 2nd Ring Road for several years when towering buildings were scarcely seen. Many streets were like the heritage from the last century. Hutong is busy with changing, but except for the popular and noisy ones, most of them are decaying or rejuvenating quietly. At weekends, I usually walked about 9~10km around the narrow alleys, no need to pass through pedestrian bridges and main roads, just like meandering through a small city. The dirty green grocery almost becomes the identity of all the alleys.The ragged fruit street in the photo! Isn’t it Jiaodaokou?! Round-City Park may be the most comfortable park in Beijing because of its proper traveler density, not too more, not too less, and most importantly, no square dance. The decoration and planting of the park can rank the top among all the free parks in Beijing. In the photo presenting a woman with a boy, a bag printed with “LONGWEN EDUCATION” is very noticeable.Though I do not know much about LONGWEN, it is, doubtlessly, a phrase most commonly seen in Beijing street. Beijing, familiar and strange!

其中的生活，仿佛一切还停留在悠远的时代，沈从文的小说《边城》有个触目为青山绿水，一对眸子清明如水晶的翠翠（人名）姑娘，这姑娘生长
的地方和故事发生地就在凤凰。多年前的阅读，记不得故事了，但是凤凰那舌尖心头皆俱韵的人文情怀与印象，通过这组照片被唤醒。凤凰还是那
么安宁么？
Captured frog, snack, chicken feet lying on the barbecue stand. They are not the usual food appearing on the menu of the foreigners. Maybe
that’s
why Nina Lindgren recorded them. To see these common things from a foreigner’s perspective, you can harvest new enlightenment. Beautiful
old architectures blend with the traditional life style. Times seems stop in the past, reluctant to step into the modern civilization. “Border Town” is a
significant master piece in the history of Chinese literature. The author Shen Ts’ung-Wen described a girl named Cuicui who has clear-as-crystal eyes.
Fenghuang is the place where Cuicui lived and the story took place. I read this story many years ago and could not remember the details now. But the
humanistic feelings and charming landscapes stored within my deep heart are wakened again by these pictures. Fenghuang is still as tranquil as in the novel?
