Lamar University’s Science and Technology Building displays science at the center of the school’s emerging academic quad, while providing a transparent hub for scientific creativity that embodies a new paradigm for interaction, instruction, and research. Lamar University is a public research university in Beaumont, Texas. After investing in a new student center and student housing, Lamar sought to give life to the heart of its campus with a new science and technology building. The building predominately supports the biology and chemistry departments, and also meets a local need — providing a facility to support STEM training to accommodate local industries. Following a general trend within higher education, this brand-new building will bring a contemporary program to the campus, helping Lamar attract top faculty and students.
