The brief was to convert a previously a dis-used industrial site into a residential development, located within an inner-city cul-de-sac off Rathdowne Street. The site is only accessible via bluestone laneways, which help give the development a more secluded and exclusive address.
Seven new three and four-storey townhouses were proposed for the site, two of which were a part-conversion of an existing abandoned brick warehouse. Green roofs, courtyard gardens and light wells were placed throughout the development to enhance quality of space and usability for all occupants, enabling all rooms (including bathrooms) to have access to natural light and ventilation.
Proposed materials used are predominantly masonry and metal cladding, which are both prevalent in the area and make reference to the former industrial site. The project was granted Town Planning approval, but the project was later put on hold.
