The Coal Loader is a significant cultural landscape on Sydney Harbour. It was built around the turn of the century to load coal for overseas shipping. 20 years ago, a rare opportunity arose to revitalise the abandoned industrial waterfront into a public space. Guided by the CLOUSTON Associates 1999 masterplan, the Coal Loader has now transformed into a vibrant community park.

Coal Loader
It is one of Australia’s largest green roof parks. The Coal Loader is self-sustaining, harvesting all its own rainwater and running off solar power.
