This project consists of a renovation and decoration of an apartment located in Sant Antoni neighborhood, Barcelona.
The flat had high and old ceilings and carpentry that make the space in general very noble.
The areas of the house are divided into:
Small hall, living and dining room in an open space, kitchen, guest bathroom, guest office/ bedroom and master suite room (with private bathroom).
Our clientes live in New York, but they used to come to Barcelona so ofetn that they decided to buy their vacation home here.
They love the city and Spain in general, for its light, the sea and its people and they wanted the house to reflect what they usually feel when they visit the country.
For this reason, cheerful colors stolen from the landscape have been used.
The floor that was previously vinyl was changed to a light-colored wooden parquet and hydraulic tiles manufactured as in the old days have been placed in the entrance and kitchen.
We also include furniture and lamps from Spanish brands, such as the Verges ABC chair, a pair of Santa Cole lamps, Faro fans and Treku's bed.
As we wanted to get an eclectic space, we looked for several pieces in antique dealers such as the G-Plan sideboard, the vintage red leather armchair from the 60s and a Danish dresser.
All this mixed with iconic design pieces, such as the Gubi dining table, Pierre Paulin dining chairs for Artifort, the JL341 lamp which is a 1969 design still in production by Artek and Tolomeu bedside table lamps from Artemide.
The idea was to create an eclectic space but very cozy and relaxed.
Also art had a very important and personal role, for this reason we have used works from the clients private collection that were brought from New York and Brazil. We have also added some piece of local art such as the big painting that you can see besides the bed on the main room from Mirthe Blussé.
