该项目是对一个牧场的改造。牧场位于Roaring Fork河流的上游地区，周边是一片高大的橡树林，在这里可以看到埃尔克山脉的全景，非常漂亮。该项目中的Red Butte牧场被认为是最受欢迎的牧场之一，它与周边的Aspen牧场常年进行合作。场地面积为150英亩，设计团队希望能够创造一个连续性的系列景观，它们之间通过漫步小路联系在一起，并安设一些休闲装置，加上各种各样的草木花卉，这里定能成为一个芳香四溢的宿根园，而且周边是两个居民区和和一个马术场，一些办公机构和历史景观也在周边，交通非常方便。

牧场中会在一些室内安装玻璃，这样的话，室外空间和室内既有隔离线，又能够通过透明的玻璃联系在一起，人们即使在室内也可以看到外界的自然景象。牧场中还有人们亲手建造的石墙，它们是整个场地的边界。据悉，该项目是花费了五年的时间才完成的，这期间离不开设计师们与项目客户以及周边人们的合作与帮助。

Perched above the Roaring Fork River and defined by mature groves of Gamble oaks with panoramic views to the Elk Mountains, Red Butte Ranch is considered as one of the most prominent ranches still in operation near Aspen. The 150-acre master plan aims to create a cohesive setting meandering pathways and recreation-based amenities and fragrant perennial gardens around two new residences, an equestrian facility, caretaker’s office and historic barns.

Windows in the landscape are organized around interior and exterior focal points, drawing the view into the garden and creating an intimately scaled environment where natural promontories and hand-crafted stone walls define edges. The project marks a five-year collaboration between the landscape architect, design team and client.
