Etudes N°3 OUT OF THE BLUE  FW13/14

The Études N°3 collection subtly mixes sportswear and urban references with the classic men’s wardrobe.

The brand’s designers highlight the Études silhouette: a figure that is more and more precise with ample cuts and graphic lines that sublimate both elegance and movement. For this collection, Études offers pure and strong colors, plays around monochromic palettes, and mixes technical materials with more traditional ones.

Confident of its look and of its volumes, Études N°3 asserts the unisex tendency of its garments.

The collection explores the sobriety of the color black by contrasting it to the “Études blue”. Patterns are once again highly valorized and can be found through digital prints and woven jacquard.

The fabric choice includes not only noble and traditional materials (virgin wool, mohair, waxed cotton, lamb leather or suede), but also modern and technical ones (mesh, nylon, polyester). Études N°3 fully assumes streetwear and sportswear references from the early 2000s by displaying placed logos on sweatshirts and sweatpants.

As is its habit, Etudes has collaborated with an artist to create a print that will become the collection’s emblem. It is the American artist Pia Howell who will deliver two motifs named “Colorgram”. Stemming from a process that wavers between photogram and painting, these prints translate with lightness and precision the notions of movement and modernity that define this collection.

Etudes have collaborated for the third time with the French brand Paraboot around the climbing boot Yosemite and offers 2 versions: a black monochromatic one and a blue one stamped with the European Union logo.

This season is punctuated by collaborations focusing on the tee-shirt with a painting from Claire Decet and photographs from Osma Harivlathi, Paul Kooiker, and the studio Études itself.

Études N°3 establishes a true mix of references and sensibilities where the different elements are in constant collision at the image of our world today. Resulting from a generation, the one of its creators born in the beginning 80s, Études N°3 pays tribute to the graphics, tendencies, iconic figures of the years 2000: undoubtedly contemporary!
