A designer’s group came to us looking for a new space for their studio, with integrated and collective workstations.
What guided the project? What were the inspirations?
The main idea was exploring the small commercial room, in order to attend the 4 members of the Rufus studio and the Fluid studio, creating new workstations for eventual collaborators. In addition, we solved the layout challenge with only 2 custom-made joineries. Using the same material - OBS - for all of them, aiming to organize the flows, the joinery was not only the differential point of the project, but also a solution for a better distribution of workstations and other functionalities. It’s a singular structure that involves the workstations and a support cabinet, which is, besides a deposit, a bench for seating and an apparatus to reserve the collective bathroom.
Main points of the project
In the small commercial room, we adopted the solution of resolving all their needs with a singular custom-made joinery, that would increase the workstations and be a support for works exhibitions of the two studios.
Curiosity
The material choice was the main differential. OSB is not only a rarely used wood because of its well-marked texture, but also a wood full of character, which attends completely all the aesthetic needs of both studios, occupying the same space.
