由艺术家Claudia Moseley和Edward Shuster所设想的“文化中嵌套自然，自然中又嵌套文化”、“看不见的城市”概念的一系列树屋被安排在伦敦摄政公园的湖上。树屋由建筑师Jerry Tate建造在独特的保护区内，揭示和强调了自然、社会和文化的关系。

Envisioned by its artists Claudia Moseley and Edward Shuster as a ‘a conceptual matryoshka doll of culture-within-nature-within-culture’, ‘the invisible city’ is a series of treehouses arranged around the boating lake in London’s regent’s park. Created with Jerry Tate architects, the project establishes individual sanctuaries that both reveal and strengthen relationships between nature, society and culture.

The project is comprised of three giant pavilions that are capable of hosting large audiences and a diverse range of art forms. ‘The aerial arena’ is a giant timber structure found at the center point of the site. Wrapped in a transparent skin, it can hold 100 seated attendees. ‘The hive gallery’ is completely suspended from the branches of its tree offering its occupants a new perspective on the world below. The final typology are ‘peace pods’, geometric hubs that suspend participants in nature, creating intimate spaces for contemplation and conversation.

Through intervening with the existing city the scheme redefines the relationship between nature and culture and celebrates the value and importance of public external space within the urban fabric. the project, which has won the support of Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton, is currently seeking funding on kickstarter, with the campaign ending on march 28th, 2014. 100% of the funds generated will be used towards the construction and production of the scheme.

The scheme intends to facilitate a network of collaborators, allowing a range of people to become involved in the project’s realization, curating a series of cultural exchanges that reflect the network of ideas generated throughout the campaign.
