The project is immersed in the traditional neighborhood of Guemes, the cradle of bohemian in Cordoba, and is now undergoing a strong transformation process, including new dining, shopping and cultural proposals within the already wide range of offerings.

In an old plate shed, which used to work as car parking, we propose an outdoor shopping arcade. More than twenty stores surrounded by patios, in a tour that tries to copy the "intricate movement" typical of workers' housing of the neighborhood that have become stores.

When we disassembled the shed that worked on the lot, we found available materials that we decided to use: thus some demolished walls became floors, openings rescued, sanded and reused, and veneers from the original roof became the roofs of the new premises. The structure of the shed was preserved as a reminder of the original building and with an almost sculptural character, from it, large metal lamps hang that regulate perceptually the scale of the open space, and have become icons of the project.

The recovery and reuse of items from this and other projects, defined the aesthetic and the concept that guided the proposal.

In an agreement with the local government, seeking to promote sustainable practices in architecture, we decided to incorporate green roofs, thus transforming the project into the emblem of the search for a new concept of the city.

El proyecto se encuentra inmerso en el tradicional barrio de Güemes, cuna de la bohemia cordobesa, y que hoy atraviesa un fuerte proceso de transformación,  incorporando nuevas propuestas gastronómicas, comerciales y culturales a la ya variada oferta del sector.

En un viejo tinglado de chapa, que solía funcionar como estacionamiento de automóviles, planteamos una galería comercial al aire libre. Más de veinte locales rodeados de patios, en un recorrido que trata de copiar el “moverse intrincado” propio de las viviendas obreras del barrio devenidas en locales.

Cuando desarmamos el tinglado que antes funcionaba en el lote, nos encontramos con materiales disponibles que decidimos usar: así fue que algunos muros demolidos se transformaron en contrapisos, aberturas que se rescataron se lijaron y reusaron, y las chapas de la cubierta original se convirtieron en cubiertas de los nuevos locales. Se conservó como recuerdo de la construcción original y con un carácter casi escultural, la estructura del tinglado, desde la que cuelgan grandes lámparas metálicas que regulan perceptualmente la escala del espacio abierto, y han llegado a convertirse en iconos de la obra.

La recuperación y reutilización de elementos que rescatamos de esta y otras obras, definieron la estética y el concepto que guió la propuesta.

En un acuerdo con el gobierno local, buscando fomentar prácticas sustentables en la arquitectura, es que decidimos incorporar cubiertas ajardinadas, transformando así el proyecto en el emblema de la búsqueda de un nuevo concepto de ciudad.
