Beach Rouge is a spacious 1400m² seaside development on the sparkling shores of the Aegean Sea. Situated in a peaceful cove within the LUX* Hotel development. Above all, Quark Studio aimed to comfortably–and stylishly–accommodate visitors to this pristine beach while minimizing built structures and optimizing the most essential aspects of beachside enjoyment–sand, sun, and sea.

Quark’s design aesthetic subtly emphasizes the existing ecological and topological elements of the cove’s stunning natural landscape, which was the elemental inspiration for this acclaimed outdoor installation. Visitors to Beach Rouge pavilion enjoy the serene yet breezy shade provided by a series of geometric canvas “sails” lofted over the entirety of the expansive terrace. Quark’s strategic use of canvas material overhead subtly deepens the simultaneously maritime and outdoor aesthetic of this beachside resort. These adventurous stylistic choices are reinforced by metal poles and taut ropes pitched at dramatic angles reminiscent of tent architecture.

Far more than a purely aesthetic consideration, the landmark lofted canvas sails at Beach Rouge constitute an imminently innovative and pragmatic design choice: carefully segmented sections of sails over private seating areas provide guests with fully customizable control over sun exposure according to their individual needs and preferences. At the same time, the pavilion’s stable roof structure and lofted sails were designed to stand perpendicular to the prevailing ocean winds in order to take advantage of natural methods for air circulation.

Above all, Beach Rouge is designed to preserve and enhance the sights, sounds, and senses of one of Turkey’s most beautiful beaches while unobtrusively providing boutique bar and lounge amenities to an international clientele. To this end, the materials, furniture, and fixtures chosen for the Beach Rouge development serve both to complement and to provide selective aesthetic counterpoints to the stunning natural environment. The extensive open-air terrace of Beach Rouge mirrors the gentle curvature of the beach itself, ensuring stunning unobstructed views of the Aegean from elevated patio-seating and seaside chaise-lounges alike.
