Hidden inside a historic building in the late 19th century is the Drake Hotel, a new modern wing marking a new chapter in Toronto's iconic Queen West neighbourhood, where the Drake was once the city's first design Hotel. Today, the hotel boasts not only 32 new rooms, but also a bright, modern, highly artistic public space with an elegant lobby behind heavy brass doors and a cosy bar behind red velvet curtains.

Since the Drake opened 17 years ago, the area has grown from a hidden corner to a world-renowned art, fashion and food oasis. The interior of the new wing has been re-imagined and reimagined to show how the Drake continues to be at the centre of this vibrant scene.

The hotel lobby has become a popular place for guests and residents of the area to meet and sample the Drake's famous cocktails. Eclectic medieval furniture and stained brick fireplaces create an image of classic hospitality with contemporary design. Benches decorated with two columns and a bright medieval walnut motif are the focal point of the hall, while a sculptural reception desk designed by a Toronto studio embodies the artistic image of the hall.
