The Magnetic Latvia business information centre at Riga International Airport was a space to meet, learn about Latvia and its potential. Somewhere to connect with potential business partners, organise seminars and presentations, find out about the services of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, take a break or work between connecting flights.
Inspired by Latvian landscapes and tradition, the interior design and decorations were finished in wood - a significant natural treasure and material. A stylised forest served as a backdrop for exhibiting handcrafted local design items such as furniture, fashion, homewares, bicycles and even a boat. A screen at the back of the space gave additional ambiance and revealed the story of Latvia through purpose-made videos on travel and business opportunities, nature, wildlife and traditions.
The space was inherently adaptable. It was divided into zones - an exhibition space, meeting room, kitchen area and storage room - and could be further segmented thanks to divider curtains. A practical and aesthetic way of telling the story of modern day Latvia and its roots.
