众所周知，一个项目的设计与建造应该遵循可持续发展的理论以及生态环保的准则。当然，该项目也不例外。为了使建成后的公园具有可持续的发展性，同时能够节约资源，高能环保，设计团队在公园内创建了一个湖泊体系，这样一来，湖泊不仅仅是一个供人们戏耍和游玩的地方，它更是一个生态化的基础设施，对该地区有着非常重要的作用。当暴风雨来临，降水量激增时，湖泊可以作为一个临时的储水装置，将周边环境积压的雨水通过径流引入湖泊，这不仅对于该公园自身的发展很有益，而且可以保护Oslo港口的水质量不受影响。该湖泊系统通过七个独特的渠道融入到整个公园以及整个城市中，其中旧指挥塔台上的设计艺术最令人印象深刻，在塔台上有一个水玻璃雕塑装置，它可以将水景与灯光与整个城市融为一体，非常有吸引力。

there was an overall consensus that the development should be carried out in a sustainable and ecologically aware manner. Within the park is a created lake system. The lake is not just great place to splash and play, but is ecological infrastructure ready to receive stormwater run-off from the surrounding development, which is important not jus for the park but also to protect the water quality in Oslo Harbour. The lake system extends through 7 fingers into the urban design, with an artistic highlight at the old control tower where a water-glass sculpture brings the ephemeral beauty of water and light into the city.
