The first showroom in Milan of
, the bathroom furniture company from Bologna, is located in Brera, in the very heart of the city.
Via Pontaccio crosses the neighborhood, intersecting the main streets of the ‘Design District’ which comprise some of the best furniture brands in Italy.
The aim of the project was not only to create a showroom assigned to the display of the various collections, but, above all, to represent the company’s core values.
Since the space available is spread over two separate floors, the importance of the connection between them was apparent almost immediately. The staircase is one of the most complex elements of the entire project and is divided into two parts: a material base covered in cement resin and a body suspended above this volume made of black iron. The contrast is emphasized with the help of the LED light, incorporated both in the handrail and in the side wall, which best represents the company's passion for finding unconventional solutions.
The rest of the walls were arrayed with the intention of accommodating the products in the best possible way, ensuring the feasibility to modify and update these solutions over time.
Particular attention was paid to lighting and air conditioning. The visible presence of these technical elements has been reduced to a minimum so as not to create visual distractions.
Some details such as the indirect lighting in the corners and the 'shadow gaps' between the walls and the ceiling are part of the studio's design vocabulary and distinguish our work in a subtle way.
