The restaurant, Blueness, is located in the heart of Antwerp's fashionable district, on the ground floor of a 17th-century Renaissance building. Space Copenhagen has installed specific pieces inside the restaurant that add an "otherworldly" touch, with cast brass chandeliers and a colorful lighting installation.

The Danish design studio, led by Sige Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rutzou, wanted to reflect the fine casual cuisine of the interior with French and Japanese influences, while also showcasing the different uses and activities of the building throughout its history. As a result, the interior fuses the building's classical architecture with new Scandinavian design elements while its layout offers diners the option of a theatrical dining experience at the custom bar, where they can observe the open kitchen, or a tranquil candlelit dinner experience in the main dining room.

Original features -- such as tall ceilings, carved sandstone and marble columns, and elaborate metalwork door and window frames -- are complemented by clean-lined furniture and site-specific works by some artists. The studio describes the bespoke pieces as "otherworldly" and Rutzou calls them "unexpected, mysterious elements of the future".

The curved bar is made of dark red walnut, and its rounded edges have been carefully treated to create a smooth tactile surface. Dark red walnut with brushed steel bench for easy cleaning and maintenance. The dark furniture contrasts with the light stone walls of the 17th-century building. The dining room is comfortably furnished in pastel hues, using natural materials such as wood, stone, brass and linen.
