东京“TRi TERASU”灯光照明商，在使用LED灯和导光技术发展灯具上一直追求全新的创意。该项目是对之前的总部办公室的改造，其设计理念是“现象”的光。陈列展示设计本身就是提供光的体验的地方，用来展示“TRi TERASU”品牌。一个主要元素就是导光板，它通常作为光源的标牌，因此也起到了背景的作用。设计师将其作为一种装饰材料，用作面层，是空间组成的主要因素。在入口大厅，当传感器随着客人的活动而发出反应，天花板吊灯自动亮起，逐渐从边缘到中心形成光波。光波流动到在安装了导光板的墙上形成拱形。“光波”与墙上“光的乐队”联系在一起，这光波段流慢慢地围绕着大厅中心的圆形台。展示设计的照明系统，由计算机控制程序。整个建筑的功能就是作为实验室，可以研究光的所有现象。该空间也展示TRi TERASU新的灯具文化。

“TRi TERASU” is a lighting equipment manufacturer that has been pursuing new style of light by developing light devices using LED and light guiding technologies. This project was a renovation project of their new head office relocated to a building in front of Akihabara station, Tokyo.

The design concept is “Phenomenon” of light. The building itself provides several experiences of light as a place for expressing TRi TERASU brand. One of their major items is a light guide plate. Usually it is used for a light source of signboards so it takes a background role. But here, we adopted it as a finishing material for a surface layer that takes major factor of space compositions. We expressed streaming and floating light belts, mixed and dissolved colors, sequences of the real and fake, etc.

At the entrance lobby, the ceiling chandelier automatically lights up gradually as drawing ripples of light from the edge to the centre, when the sensor is tripped by the visitors movement.The ripples of light flow into the wall where the “light guide panel” are installed as forming into an arch. “The ripples of light” link together with “the band of light” on the wall, and this light-band streams very slowly surrounding a circular bench at the centre of the lobby. All lighting system is programmed and controlled by a computer. And moreover, we designed various patterns of lighting in colour hue and rhythm.

We sprinkled spaces where you can experience phenomenon created from several lighting effects made by TRi TERASU’s advantages, LED and light guide plates. The entire building functions as a laboratory where phenomenon of light in space is investigated. We successfully designed not a certain figure but phenomenon of light which is born from incorporeality. The building makes a borderline of a town and itself vague and takes in energy of Akihabara. The space transmits a new light culture of TRi TERASU.
