Ittierre S.p.A inaugurates HITGallery, the new global retail concept ideated by Italian designer Fabio Novembre.
The first store wasopen in Hong Kong on September 29th, with Europe’s first store following by late 2012. Ittierre S.p.A, leader in the production and distribution of house and license fashion brands, introduces a new global retail concept for HITGallery, the Italian company’s own chain of stores presenting all in one the lines of clothing it manufactures and markets: Pierre Balmain, Tommy Hilfiger Collection, Karl Lagerfeld Paris, C’n’C Costume National, Aquascutum, Galliano and GF Ferré and Fiorucci.
Mind behind the project is Studio Novembre, the prominent Italian design studio commissioned by the Pettoranello-based fashion firm to ideate the new HITGallery stores, along the way restyling major ones in the current chain of 50 locations worldwide (30 in Asia alone) in perfect sync with the new concept. The grand opening of the first HITGallery store feauturing the new retail concept – a 100 sqm space at the upscale Times Square shopping mall in Hong Kong – was take place on September 29th.
Fabio Novembre, owner of Studio Novembre, explains: “The HITGallery stores we plan to open around the globe will capture the essence and spirit of Italy in wonderful new ways. Taking inspiration from the paintings of Giorgio De Chirico, from the surreal atmospheres he created through the distortion of perspectives, we will develop open squares – Italian piazza mode – where we can meet and gather to fathom the enigmas of our existence and to ideally rethink Italy’s role and effective identity in the contemporary world. Upon entering the concept store in Hong Kong, people will promptly notice the strong Italian imprint of the architectural design’s classical matrix: symmetrical structure, row of arches, one dominant hue offset by two tone flooring. The color defining the walls – a neutral shade bordering between green and sky or cerulean blue – defies classification, so becoming the ideal backdrop for all the brands sold in the store.”
Antonio Bianchi, Chairman and CEO of Ittierre S.p.A, comments: “Fully aware of the potential of our many different brands, we are taking advantage of every opportunity to extend our direct retail network at the international level. The HITGallery stores will enable Ittierre to express the excellence of the products it makes all in one unique and impressive context. We chose to work with Fabio Novembre because we recognize his extraordinary ability in bringing to fulfillment the various elements – sense of style, flawless taste and creative vision – that set the finest Italian design a class apart. As of this fall we will be opening new stores in Europe too, beginning with the flagship in Milan, now in the final stages of realization.”
