When we were asked to redo an existing restaurant the brief was to modernize but without shunning away existing customers and to rethink the layout of the large dining hall so to optimize the internal workflow, but all within a fairly tight budget.

We decided that we needed to keep as much as possible, and spend on the entrance/bar area. In the dining hall we maintained floors ceilings and wall coverings and worked almost exclusively with color and light. In the bar/entrance area we changed floors, ceiling and got rid of the existing wall panels.

In the dining hall we designed a large piece of furnirure that function a backdrop for the dining but also resolves problems of privacy and storage for the staff.

In the bar/entrance area the furniture/bar was designed to give a strong visual impact but also project some of the stoic quality that the owners possesses.
