古往今来,海市蜃楼呈现的是他者(Otherness)的蜃景。那到底只是梦境,还是一种真实?正象米歇尔•福柯(Michel Foucault)在《另一空间》(Des espacesautres)一书中描述的,现实的异托帮(Heterotopia)不但存在,还可以是真实的。我们的世界具有同时性、并列性、或近或远、或被并置、或被离散。当下的时刻,人们可以体验的是在穿越时间过程中的自我想象与奇观的展开。如果未来的博物馆可以呈现这种蜃景的真实性,那将是来自于多维世界的网状关联与自然过渡。

未来的现实性如何被呈现?那是第四维、第五维?还是更高维度与“当下”的并置呢?那是动态的、瞬时的、可视的吗?其实,未来的蜃景就是一个更高维度的现实存在。

Mirage, as the spectacle of otherness, is a dreamland or truth? Like Michel Foucault describes in his book Des espacesautres, Heterotopia does exist and it is real. Our world exists simultaneously and parallel with other space. It can be close or far away, be attached or separated. The thing can be experienced through time at the present moment is self-imagination and the appearance of spectacle. If the future museum can show the reality of this spectacle, that will be the transition between the network of the multi-dimensional world and nature.

How to make a reflection of future to reality? Is it four-dimensional or five? Or in more higher dimension and attached with present? Is it dynamic, instantaneous and visual? The future spectacle is the real exist in a higher dimensional world.

算法几何(Algorithmic Geometry)通过将数学代数及拓扑关系的几何形式进行运算,呈现多维空间的存在状态。设计的视觉成果看似洒脱写意,实则遵守了理性的几何关系,即用chaoscope等数字算法工具将几何关系可视化的软件生成最初的形体,随后加入美学选择与优化,最后形成的几何形态用“全息投影技术”(Holographic Projection)呈现在参观者眼前。若干渐变的形态提供给参观者一个视觉的盛宴,更奇特的或许即是将原来远在天边的蜃景放到触手可及的地方。远观与近触,动态与静止,浪漫与理性。未来的博物馆存在与多维世界中,人与人的多维交流以及人与展品的多维交流所展现的是互动与交互的世界;未来博物馆是内在性与外在性的拓扑的转化,是可以折叠与流动链接的多维世界。每一次的折叠与转化都是维度的叠加,都是社会网络系统的再一次升级。

Algorithmic Geometry, as the applied design methodology, through the computing of the geometric form that generate from the mathematical algebra and typology, it exits as a multi-dimensional space. The visual result looks like randomly, but it follows the rational geometric relation behind. The algorithmic digital tools, like chaoscope, are applied to visualize the geometric relationship and generate the initial forms first. Then we select and optimize them from aesthetic view. Finally, Holographic Projection technique is applied to present these geometric forms. The dynamic and changing forms provide a visual gluttonous to the visitors. More specially, it brings the far-away spectacle to the place within your reach. It is distant but touchable, dynamic but static, romantic but rational. In the multi-dimensional world that the future museum exits, the multi-dimensional communication between people and people, people and exhibit, show the interactive characteristic of the world. The future museum is the typological transformation between internality and externality. It is a foldable and fluid-connected multi-dimensional world. Each folding or transformation is a superposition of dimension and it is also an update of social network.

本作品运用算法几何创作多维空间,在参数逻辑控制下实现了“他处”场景的体验与蜃景的呈现。这就是我作为建筑师,通过理性诗意的方法创造别样的未来博物馆。

The multi-dimensional space, created by Algorithmic Geometry in this project, is a reflection and experience of spectacle in Otherness that is under the control of parametric logic. This is my understanding, as an architect, to create a different kind of future museum through a rational and poetic way.
