Challenged with a massive consolidation of Chase Brexton Health Services to the iconic Monumental Life Building, a protected historic landmark in the heart of the Mount Vernon Historic District, Marks, Thomas Architects provided architectural and interior design services, space planning and programming, historic tax credit consultation, code compliance; including CHAP and local jurisdiction approval, existing conditions assessment, stainability consultation; including LEED and BCGBS consulting and programming through charettes and focus groups.
The new central plaza is defined by three buildings, spanning construction time periods from 1928 to 1966 and will become an outdoor entry feature in the new renovation through major adjustments to the below grade parking structure. The final renovated area provides a 70,000 SF of state-of-the-art clinic and administrative space with innovative HVA C and IT systems within the historic structure.
