This collaboration between Squire and Partners and Linda Farrow was conceived as an innovative Christmas display for the pioneering eyewear brand’s flagship store on Mount Street, Mayfair. Based on Linda Farrow’s much loved brand icon – Julian the Bear – and a shared passion for craft and making, the bespoke window places Julian at the centre of a striking illuminated installation. Approaching the store window as a gallery canvas, Squire and Partners’ concept is designed to be impactful, playful and beautifully crafted. Sixteen gold bear castings are suspended from the roof of a handmade box, lined with reflective gold acrylic and two way mirrors to create the illusion of an endless chamber. The case is lit with six pendant filament bulbs, set within brass housings and hung from a dark braided cord. Nine glass plinths display a selection of Linda Farrow’s trademark gold mirrored sunglasses, adding to the reflective disorder. The window installation launched on Thursday 17 November 2016, and was part of the Mount Street Christmas Lights evening on Thursday 24 November. The commission by Linda Farrow is one of a series of collaborations between Squire and Partners and fashion brands, following projects with Maria Luisa, Brooks Brothers and Reiss.
