The central mill theater is the "land mark"and it is implanted on rigth side margin of Piracicabe River, where is possible to see downtown on other side. The apparent brick volumes offers an awsome view, with the river presence mirroring ligths from the building,  composing a scene that turns Piracicaba´s landscape single.

The conjunt keeps intact since when it was disabled, as the citadel resisted all big changes that the entorn  passed trougth last decades. The central mill theater didn't born how it is nowadays, instead, during his life was received additions, reforms, developments and, thereby, saves the register of many his ages.

One of the older sheds from the set, known as "number six", will be  restored and adpated to receive the multifunctional  theather.

The project have as basic fundament the old mill memory preservacion allied to a perfect funcioanality of a contemporany theater, in this way, the value of industrial archeology is mixed with moderns constuctive tecnology and cenotechnical.

The old shed that used to keep alcohol casks will be there, entire, as a witness from time that doesn't exist anymore. Now equipped and preppared for new types of production: music, theater, dance, movie theater and recreation.

A new step will be started on the long life of Piracicaba´s Central Mill Theater.

o engenho central é “marca da terra” e está implantado na margem direita do rio piracicaba, de onde se vê o centro da cidade do outro lado. seus volumes em tijolo aparente oferecem uma visão impressionante, com a presença do rio espelhando suas luzes e compondo um cenário que singulariza a paisagem urbana de piracicaba. 

o conjunto mantém-se com a integridade de quando foi desativado, como cidadela resistente às grandes mudanças por que passou seu entorno nas últimas décadas. não nasceu como está. ao contrário, ao longo de sua vida foi recebendo acréscimos, reformas, desenvolvimentos e, assim, guarda registro de várias de suas idades.

um dos galpões mais antigos do conjunto, conhecido como “número seis”, será restaurado e adaptado para receber um teatro multifuncional.

o projeto tem como fundamento básico a preservação da memória do antigo engenho aliada ao perfeito funcionamento de um teatro contemporâneo. assim, o valor da arqueologia industrial se mescla às modernas tecnologias construtivas e cenotécnicas.

o antigo galpão que abrigava tonéis de álcool estará lá, íntegro, como testemunha de um tempo que já não há, agora equipado e preparado para novos tipos de produção: música, teatro, dança, cinema e lazer.

uma nova etapa será iniciada na longa vida do engenho central de piracicaba.
