This is a new building in an urban consolidation area, facing on one side one of Barcelona’s most important and busiest roads and on another side towards the little local streets. For this reason the building varies in height and the façades are designed for these very different surroundings.
A plinth is laid, clad with concrete panels to frame the lower floors of the building; the upper floors, with the rooms, are worked with panels finished in aluminium and folded in some parts to frame the openings to the outside. The module is clad with wooden slats which project over the main road and includes spaces of community use on each floor.
The shape of this building responds to the two urban scales that surround it, on one side it has a height of six floors and on the other, only two.
The use of these different heights create terraces of private use, and together with modules and materials that compose the façade, gives the building a unique character.
