NxT studio created the design for an entertainment company’s offices located in Beverly Hills, California.
The interior design blends a mid-century aesthetic with hints of Hollywood glamor for fun. The jewel tones throughout the space reflect a West Coast color pallet of Earth, Sky, and Sea, familiar and comfortable to everyone in LA. The wall graphic was inspired by Gabriel Orozco, a favorite artist of the client.
The custom decorative screen separates the space visually to give more privacy to the office work area, but pivots to open up during larger evening industry events. The perforated pattern was designed by the architect and fabricated with a CNC millworking machine, then powder coated with a metallic paint.
The design team teamed with several West Coast vendors including HD Buttercup in Culver City, CA to provide a comfortable hospitality-like experience in the furnishings, accessories, and area rugs. Accent lighting was selected by the design team with natural wicker light filtering fibers. Lighting was positioned low in the rooms or grazing the walls for a subtle ambient lighting effect. The design team feels that horizontal LED lighting through the space is much more comfortable than traditional overhead 2×4 office lighting. Faux painted brick, typically utilized in set design construction in Hollywood, was layered into the design for a loft-like hipster vibe. This is all very unexpected in a modern high-rise corporate office building.
