In a highly-demanding space with high traffic as a football stadium is with a capacity of over 20.000 people, PORCELANOSA Grupo‘s materials and products turn out to be the best choice when carrying an integral renovation project. The quality and the wide range of properties of its designs for flooring, wall tiles, bathroomsor building systems, have taken PORCELANOSA Grupo to “take sides” in this outstanding challenge, in other words, to thoroughly renovate Watford City’s football stadium, in the south of the UK.
Exteriors
By combining the innovation by Butech and its building systems with the high resistance that the Urbatekextra-slim through-body porcelain provides, those in charge of the project have opted for the installation of a ceramic façade with a highly-aesthetic beauty. In addition to the 100x300cm large format, which is ideal for large scale façades, the XLight model chosen for the Watford FC football stadium has been the one from the Basic series; Extreme Black, in the 120×5,96cm format and with the hidden stitching-system.
Easy-installation was a must and that is why the Urbatek porcelain tile has been the choice for this project. With just a 3,5mm thickness and only weighing 8kg/m2. Furthermore, the XLight by Urbatek is waterproof, an insulator, it’s ultra-resistant and ideal for achieving energy efficiency, thanks to the Butech technology and its ventilated façade systems.
Interiors
Highly-resistant floor and wall tiles have turned out to be necessary when carrying out the interior renovation of the football stadium. Apart from the use of the XLight in interiors as well, the architects in charge of the project have opted for various models of ceramic floor tiles and wall tiles from the Porcelanosa and Venis firms in order to fulfil the project’s demands. Therefore, series like the Antique Black, London Grey or Chester Line Antracita by Porcelanosa have been the choice for the press office, the Hospitality Room and the bathrooms; as well as others, such as the Ona blanco or the Nara basic beige & blanco by Venis for those same spaces.
With regard to the bathroom equipment , it is Noken and Gamadecor who are the ones who have put both their innovation and aesthetic power into practice in order to catch everyone’s attention in atmospheres like the gallery bathrooms or the womens’ toilets. Whilst Gamadecor offers its new functional Gloss White 110 Inbathroom furniture; Noken, on the other hand, provides its innovative Chelsea taps and both the Architect sanitaryware and Urban bathroom accessories.
Systempool has also wanted to collaborate in this outstanding football stadium project, by making use of its state-of-the-art mineral compact, the KRION® Solid Surface, which has been installed in the VIP area bar counters; in the VIP area reception desk in the backlit version; and in the press office table, thus, offering its resistance, durability and easy-to-clean properties, among others.
Without any doubt whatsoever, a thorough supply of leading-edge materials and products by PORCELANOSA Grupo, who has successfully provided the project with both quality and personality, as well as a strong character.
