This project began at the request of the Vietnamese owner, who loves Japan very much. The name of the store, SOSO, is derived from the Japanese word “楚々”, which means pure, beautiful and delicate. That’s why I decided to imagine and assemble a Japanese space that fits the word.
A large oval counter is placed in the center of the compact 60㎡ store, and tables are placed around it.The ceiling is covered with panels with countless randomly punched holes, and the pale light that leaks through the holes makes the store look like it is covered in white snow, and at night it looks like a star-filled sky.
