Modern Interpretation of traditional Bosnian architecture
Fast food Minder is placed in the heart of Baščaršija, Sarajevo's old bazaar and the historical and cultural center of the city. It was necessary to organize a kitchen and accommodate guests with places to sit, in 22 m2. Space was decorated in contemporary way with traditional touch.
Word Minder comes from the Turkish word for piece of furniture similar to couch typical of traditional Bosnian interior (influenced by Ottomans). It also symbolizes gathering, social interaction and eating is definitely one important social activity in Sarajevo.
In Minder Fast food you can eat “ćevapi” in pleasant space while sitting on colorful “štokrilica” , (stool) and looking at plaid cloth hung on the window. On the wall dominates a painting of two woman drinking coffee. That is a famous photography from the beginning of 20th century called “Most beautiful woman from Sarajevo”. The kitchen is designed as interpretation of traditional Bosnian kitchen. The geometry seen on the kitchen originates from Islamic art which is incorporated in Bosnian tradition and architecture.
