Having outgrown an old London office, Standard Bank relocated its 1,200 local employees to the center of UK’s financial community. In moving to 20 Gresham street, Standard sought a higher quality work environment and enhanced visibility for its renewed brand identity. Clean lines and sharp design coherently reflect the company’s core values—business-driven, efficient, service-centered and hospitable—from lobby to private offices. Flexible office space enables expansion and contraction as needed. While this new headquarters portrays a modern international organization, the bank’s South African heritage is subtly referenced through materials including deep woods and hand-crafted carpets, upholding the international culture of banking.
