There were many development constraints on the site including the need to retain the existing buildings, a “no-build zone” over a subway line through the site and sunlight setback restrictions on the placement and height of the towers.

前身为历史悠久的上海圣玛利亚女校，同时是著名的上海作家张爱玲的母校。

It is on the site of St. Mary’s, a former historic girls’ school and home to famous Shanghai writer Eileen Chang. 

圣玛利亚女子学校成立于1881年，一直运营到1951年。此后，学校一直空置。

St. Mary’s Girls School was established in 1881 and operated until 1951 , since then the buildings remained vacant.

现在，尚存历史建筑与项目发展相融合，形成了一系列密切相连的开放空间，并注入了新的功能用途。

The historical buildings had either been rebuilt or renovated and injected with new functional use.

The project design successfully integrates the historical buildings into the landscape environment, realizes the perfect combination of modern buildings and historical buildings, and provides maximized building values for business and office.

The project aims to create a new concept of "LOHAS" which integrates living and working in a strong urban environment.

Raffles City Changning merges with the existing city fabric, creating a flexible and multifunctional platform for the community. A place that is filled with functions and activities for all ages 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. 

项目的建成为长宁区提供了一个开放式的、 灵活的城市活动空间,成为上海别具特色的广场之一。

The completion of the project provides an open and flexible urban space for Changning District, which has become one of Shanghai's unique urban plaza.
