青岛涵碧楼位于山东半岛胶州湾南口黄岛区凤凰山下、为青岛经济技术开发区，占地达15万平方米，由于基地位置三面环海，以有著细致砂质的金沙滩的优美风景著称。

The Lalu Qingdao is located at the foot of Fenghuang Mountain in Huangdao District, South Exit of Jiaozhou Bay, Shandong Peninsula. It is a Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Area, covering an area of 150,000 square meters. 建筑外观以几座褚红色方盒为外形设计，灵感来源于建筑师初访青岛时途经港口所见的景象，以及青岛作为中国最大的货柜中转港，进而启发他以货柜为设计原型，而半岛上的十几个小方块，则是海景别墅。

所有的建筑物，都为了融入原有地形，尽量不破坏礁石和岩层，因此体积较小，也无法相连。踏入室内，Kerry Hill以镜面水池的缩与放，再加上规划团队在大堂门口安排的编钟、编磬、古琴、石狮、书几、竹简等蕴涵历史、文化气息的摆设，让客人们在文化与造景的浸润下，平缓心情。

青岛涵碧楼的总客房数为161间，每间客房约100平米，为了使每个房间都能充分享受海景，捨弃在走道两侧建客房的传统结构，采用在走道单侧建客房的单向结构，而室内落地窗更采取十米宽幅长，坐拥180度景观。
