"Everyone carries a lonely island", thephrase expresses the daily depression and anxiety of modern people. Teacher Jiang Xun says, "But loneliness itself is a kind of freedom." Purify your ears in loneliness, calm your body and mind, and talk to your soul; loneliness is not only freedom, but also becomes a privilege.

本案恰位于中国自然生态资源保持最好的孤岛——崇明岛。
The project is located in Chongming Island, a lonelyisland with best natural ecological resources in China.

When people outside the island eagerly pursue the satisfaction sand chaos, we continuously work hard to create a secret and comfortable spiritual residence inside the island.

里坊
LIFANG
里坊制在中国城市规划史上曾留有浓重的一笔，成熟于西汉，兴盛于隋唐。著名诗人白居易曾在《登观音台望城》这样描述当时的长安，“千百家似围棋局，十二街如种菜畦”。
Lifang has showed a strong influence in the history of Chinese urban planning. It matured in the Western Han Dynasty and flourished inthe Sui and Tang Dynasties. The famous poet Bai Juyi once described Chang'an atthat time in "Deng Guanyintai Wangcheng", "Thousands of homesare like a game of Go, and Twelve Streets are like vegetable gardens".

里坊制起源于解决城市管理和住户安全的问题。基于封建君主的管理体制早已不在，而对居住安全的需求却随着潜意识一代一代传下来。如今，安全感不仅指代人身和财产安全，更多的是对生活不稳定的担忧和未来不可知的焦虑。安全感匮乏，已成为现代人的常态。而采用里坊作为规划形态——这种向外封闭、向内有所属的布局方式，能很好的弥补现代人对安全感的诉求。
Lifang system originated from solving the problems ofurban management and household safety. The management system based on the feudal monarch is no longer there, however, the demand for residential safetyhas been passed down from generation to generation with the subconscious mind. Nowadays, the sense of safety not only refers to personal and property security,but more to worries about the instability of life and anxiety on the unknown future. The lack of safety has become the norm for modern people. The use of Lifangas the planning concept-this form of close to outside and open to inside, canwell compensate modern people's needs for safety.

造园搭建起市井里弄与自然环境的一架桥梁。我们在设计中充分挖掘中式园林“小中见大”的特长——即在有限空间内塑造出无限的延展空间。
Landscaping builds a bridge between Lifang and nature.During design, we fully explored the unique features of Chinese Garden, forinstant, "big in small"—that is, creating infinity in a limitedspace.
▼水池 Pool
传统园林，常以“一池三山”隐喻东方大海及海上的三座仙岛。当代景观，水池依然是必不可少之元素，藉着水的澄澈，身边的草木花鸟天地人笼络其中，一水一世界，与传统意境一脉相承。
Traditional gardens often used "A lake with three hills" as a metaphor for the eastern sea and the three deity islands in thesea. In contemporary landscape, the lake is still an essential element. Theclarity of water reflects the surrounding flowers, birds, people and world aroundit.

明·计成《园冶》：园林巧于“因”、“借”，精在“体”、“宜”。因是因循，借是借用，体是造型，宜是合宜。大抵是说，园内因其势，园外借其景，控制造型，精而合宜。
Ming·Jicheng "Yuanye": The key of gardenlies in "following" and "borrowing", "shaping"and "matching". Following is to follow the physical futures of theland in the garden. Borrowing is to borrow beautiful scenery from outside ofgarden. Shaping is to control the shape of landscape. Matching is to match with each other in the environment.

营宅
HOUSING
作为一处休养治愈的居所，友好亲人的中式风格自然成为设计的首选。我们结合当代人的使用习惯，对传统建筑立面进行了一系列陌生化处理，使其既有似曾相识的熟稔，又有眼前一亮的独特。
As a retreat and healing place, the Chinese stylebecomes the first choice for design. Concerning the contemporary lifestyle, wehave carried out a series of defamiliarization on the facades of the homes,making them both familiar and unique.

纤薄金属屋檐，深咖金属门窗，浅暖石材墙面，构成立面上的主材。

院子，是中国传统建筑文化遗产中的核心，也是孤岛栖居的核心。在院子里，我身心联结宇宙，品味孤独的自由，也挥洒自由的时光。
The court is the core of Chinese traditional architecture and the island residence . In the court, I connect my body and mindto the universe, taste the freedom of loneliness, and enjoy my free time.

"The house is in the human environment, without the noises. How can you make it? Let the heart be far fromyou." Dongtan Garden, based on the superior natural environment of anisolated island, inherits the traditional community model of Lifang, and isinspired by the essence of traditional gardens. The idea is to build aspiritual home for you and your family.
