The restoration project, provides for the maintenance of vertical and horizontal load-bearing structure and some of the vertical connections and the total renovation of the interior. The typical floor is completely redesigned, with the exception of the three existing scales that are preserved.
The elevators, some of which are kept in their original position, are replaced and in the vicinity of them are created new vertical shafts for the passage of the installations. The distribution of the plan follows the original, with offices on the facades and central corridor, the latter lit up like originally from the blade of windows that cuts vertically the building.
The offices are reorganized in plan and section paying particular attention to comfort thermo hygrometric internal: the new vertical divisions are made with walls incorporating cupboards: The systems run on the ceiling and on the floor, hidden by false ceilings and raised floors. In correspondence of the parapets, they are arranged the new fancoils, which ensure the heating and the cooling of the rooms, and allow users control comfort of the working environments.
Outside the new building is formed by several layers: Expanded polystyrene panels are leaning against the facade and coated externally with painted aluminum elements; these latter are mounted on a box-like structure, anchored to the original steel casing. The aluminum panels, prefabricated, ensure the rapidity of installation and the effectiveness of the joints, then the tightness of the air and water and sound insulation.
