场地 | SITE

项目位于麓湖云朵乐园入口的一段阶梯之上，这段连接上下的楼梯吸引了我们的注意。如何能够为一个大家习以为常的建筑空间，赋予更多的建筑意义，让人们从日常生活中体验建筑的魅力，一直是岩川建筑坚持的方向。因此，我们最终选择在这段楼梯之上修建一个充满建筑意义的空间，一个阶梯上的美术馆。

The project is on the outdoor steps above the entrance of the Cloud Paradise in Luxelakes. The steps connecting the upper and lower levels attracted our attention. Giving more architectural significance to daily-life spaces and making people to experience the charm of the building from everyday life has always been the principle of Yan Chuan Architect. Therefore, we eventually built an art museum on the steps, a space full of architectural significance.

设计 | DESIGN

在设计上，我们将楼梯划分为三个不同的空间，最高处是一个高耸的金色穹顶，顺着楼梯向下，在金色穹顶与下部空间之间形成一个半弧形的取景框。建筑整体随着楼梯的坡度缓慢的展开，在梯段扩大的地方，建筑也随之扩大，并用隔墙划分为一大一小两个展示空间。整个建筑顺应楼梯的既有尺寸，生长形成一个新的建筑空间与建筑形体，既适应周边的既有场地，同时也改善了所在环境。

In the design, we divided the steps into three separate spaces. The top is a towering golden dome. Along the stairs down, the space under the golden dome become a half-arc viewing frame. The whole building is unfolded slowly along the slope. The building expands more when the steps become wider. And a wall divides the space into two  exhibition spaces—one large and one small.The whole building, following the existing scale of the steps, grew into a new architectural space and form, which not only fit into the existing site, but also enriched the environment around.

建构 | TECTONIC

建筑的本质是建构，而建构是连接的艺术，它通过建造的材料、工艺、技术等将设计与建造相连接。在项目的建造过程中，我们选择了钢骨架跟木龙骨相结合的建造体系，同时利用水泥埃特板进行封闭，为了能够与麓湖的环境相融合，我们选择了白色的涂料作为饰面材料，这样既能保证建筑与周边环境相融合，同时也会使得建筑更加的轻盈，减少对既有环境的破坏。

The essence of the architecture is construction, which is an art of connection. By applying different materials, building crafts and technology to connect the design and the construction. During the construction process, we chose the combination of steel frame and wood joist construction system, closed with cement Eter board. In order to fit into the environment of the Luxelakes, we chose white paint as a decorative material, which can ensure the integration of the architecture and the surrounding environment. And the lightness color of the building also reduces the damage to the existing environment.

场所 | PLACE

我们认为一个优秀的建筑应该与环境相融合，应该为平淡、习以为常的生活带来惊喜，应该为人们提供更好的生活体验。建筑不应该只是功能上的满足，更应该赋予其所在场所的意义，场所并不只是空间的存在，更应该为人们在其中的生活提供条件。场所不是物质上的存在，应该是对精神世界的唤醒。

We believe that a good building should be integrated with the site context. It should bring some surprises to our routine life. It should provide people with a better life experience. The building is not only a functional satisfaction, but a meaningful enhancement to the place. The place is not just an existing space a substance. It should provide living conditions and enrich the spiritual world.

精神 | SPIRIT

建筑从来都不是仅仅为了生活的需要而修建的，从古至今人类的建造活动都带有精神上的意义，建筑成了人类思想的庇护所。向上的阶梯，最高处的金色拱顶，阶梯美术馆正是希望通过这种近乎赤裸的直白表达方式，直击人们的心灵，让人们从一个小小的、修在阶梯上的美术馆中感受到精神的意义。

The architectural building has never been built for the basic needs of life. Since ancient times, human construction activities has spiritual significance. The building becomes the shelter of human thoughts. With the upward steps, the top golden dome, the Step-up Art Museum hoped to hit people’s mind through this near-naked expression, to make people feel the spiritual significance from this little art museum on the steps.
