透视一个社会，依次是技术，制度，文化三个递进的层次。经过四十年的改革开放，中国在技术上已经完成原始积累，制度也瑧于成熟，而文化，却始终是我们这个文明古国的软肋。对文化自信的诉求，成为整整几代人的梦想。而在当前，比任何时候都要更加强烈。奥德海棠苑，正是在这个时代大背景下应运而生。作为对一千多万临沂人文化诉求的回应，项目从启动阶段即定位为新东方文化百年大宅，新东方文化的灵魂源于对传统东方文化的批判提取。强调与当代生化方式和美学的调动，而非符号和空间的堆砌，通过对传统中国人骨子里的文化情结的捕捉，直抵内心。

ORIENTAL OPUS has come out at this historical background. As respond for more than ten million Linyi people’s cultural demands，the project positions itself the new oriental centennial mansion with cultural background. The spirit of new oriental culture is to criticize and extract traditional culture，it emphasizes on contemporary lifestyles and aesthetics，disagrees to abuse symbol and space with no reason. It can impress deeply by capturing the traditional culture complex from traditional Chinese.

百年大宅则是住宅品质的倡导和要求，当代中国建筑平均寿命不到三十年，反映了人心的浮躁和质量的低劣，而奥德海棠苑，首倡百年住宅，突出对住宅品质的信心和价值传承，好房子，一套就够了。
