The Songshanhu Huabei pedestrian bridge adopted "X" single-column to support the roof canopy, It can be traced back to the cross column designed by Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe for the design of the Barcelona Pavilion,provide a new perspective for the artistic design of pedestrian bridge architectural structures.

。工业北路作为横穿东莞松山湖高新技术产业开发区东西向的交通要塞,伴随着周边产业快速发展,人车流量大,华贝天桥的建成极大的缓解了交通压力。
Huabei pedestrian bridge is located on Industrial North Road. The bridge span is 41m. Industrial North Road is the east-west traffic artery across Dongguan Songshanhu High-tech Industrial Development Zone, with the rapid development of surrounding industries, there is a large flow of people and vehicles, the completion of Huabei pedestrian bridge has greatly relieved the traffic pressure.

Structuralism emphasizes the importance of wholeness and the connection between individuals. The aesthetics of structuralism revole around patterns, symmetry, and order. Aesthetics play a vital role in bridge design, helping to provide each structure with a unique personality while enhancing its functional purpose. ATD strives to functionality, durability and safety, and the aesthetics of the structure.
ATD设计董事Tony Fan表示
“考虑到松山湖周边的环境比较好,我们构思天桥设计时,就希望可以通透一些,让行人在桥上的时候就可以欣赏这些美景。另外我们的设计是带有雨棚的,在很晒的天气下,桥上依旧有非常多的阴影,非常舒适。主桥两侧设置了花槽,在常规基础上进行加宽,更加适合植物生长,
走在天桥上,仿佛置身空中绿道。
”
Tony Fan, Director of ATD, said, " Considering the beautiful environment around Songshanhu, we wanted the bridge to be more transparent when we conceived it. In addition, our design is equipped with the canopy, so there are still many shadows on the bridge in very sunny weather, which is comfortable. Both sides of the main bridge are set up with planters, which are widened on a regular basis and more suitable for plant growth, walking on the overpass, as if on the skywalk."

在构思华贝天桥设计时,ATD采用独柱伞状钢结构对桥梁屋面进行支撑,
并把伞状结构进行了改进和创新。
将单柱设计为下大上下的三角锥形式,然而将雨棚设计为倒三角锥结构,使其与单柱交接点特别纤细
,顶棚仿佛在其上漂浮,在视觉上更有一种飘逸的轻盈感。与一般天桥相比,ATD的设计具有良好的通透性,行人能更好感受到周围盎然的绿意。
In the design of the Huabei pedestrian bridge, ATD adopted a single-column umbrella steel structure to support the roof canopy. ATD team improved and innovated the umbrella structure by designing the single column as a triangular pyramidal form, Additionaly, the canopy was designed as an inverted triangular cone structure.The design choice creates a slim connection with the column and gives the roof a visually light appreance. Compared with typical pedestrian bridge, ATD's design offers good permeability, allowing pedestrians to easily appreciate the lush greenery in the surrouding area.
单柱的设计令人想到1929年密斯·凡德罗设计巴塞罗那展馆时采用的十字立柱,华贝天桥的
“X”柱线条凌厉显轻盈而又牢固
。
然而制造厂家反馈无法用常用的钢材制作出符合我们的“X”单柱,最后采用特殊钢材和模具进行定制,最终效果才得以落实。
The design of the single column brought to mind the cross columns used by Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe in 1929 for the design of the Barcelona Pavilion. The
"X" column of
Huabei pedestrian bridge is swift and fierce, coneying a sense of
lightness and security. However, the manufacturer informed us that they are unable to produce the
"X" column
. Finally, we adpoted special steel and molds for customisation, and sucessfully implemented the design.

”For the roof, a single-column umbrella steel structure was employed to provide support. The "X" column design conveys a sense of swiftness and fierceness. The column is a larger profile at the bottom and gradually tapers towards the top, culminating in a connection point with the canopy ceiling in the shape of a pyramid. This design element gives the impression that the roof is floating, adding a sense of lightness and sophistication. Furthermore, the edges of the roof are skillfully inclined, resulting in a slim appearance when viewed from eye level.
In conclusion, the design of this canopy demonstrates a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetics and it stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful and innovative thinking.”
华贝天桥跨度41m,但仍要考虑桥梁共振带来的不适感。如直接采用常规的三根混凝土柱,将会使其视觉观感过分臃肿。本项目
取用两根混凝土柱,将桥梁两头加重,从而避免行人通过时
产生
共振。
Given that the span of Huabei pedestrian bridgeis is 41m, it is still necessary to consider the
discomfort caused by resonance
. Using the conventional three concrete columns would result in the overly bulky perception. In this project, we opt for two concrete columns, and adding more weight at both ends of the bridge, thereby avoiding the resonance.
雨棚设置了5%坡度,下雨天利用坡度自然排水,浇灌主桥两侧绿植
。
较之传统的垂直护壁板,主桥两侧的钢化玻璃护壁板,略微向外倾斜,踏步至桥面之上,与两侧三角梅的交互感增强,仿佛触手可及,视觉更为开阔。
The canopy is set at a 5% slope. Along with this slope, rainwater on the roof can be collected to the planters along the bridge to irrigate the plants. Compared with the traditional vertical baseboard, the glass baseboard on both sides of the main bridge, slightly tilt outward. Stepping onto the bridge deck enhances the sense of interaction with the Bougainvillea on both sides, making it feel within reach and providing a broader vision.

使用和纹不锈钢,无规则弧形纹路能够掩盖轻微的划痕,更加耐用。
The light blue color of the roof reflects the modern industrial production park of Songshanhu. The "X"column was covered by random brushed stainless steel, which helps to cover up the slight scratches and increases durability.
顶棚天花采用木纹铝板,两侧采用竹钢扶

,给人以温暖的视觉感。当夜幕降临,拾阶灯带、雨棚灯带以及地灯亮起,映照着木色天桥雨棚,将光芒铺满台阶道路,温馨柔和,为行人与车辆照亮前行的路途。
The wood aluminum panel is used for the canopy ceiling. Both sides of the brdige utilise compressed bamboo handrail to achieve a durable effect while proding a warm visual sense. At night falls, the steps strip, canopy strip and floor lights illuminate, reflecting off the wood-colored canopy and casting a warm and soft glow along the road, illuminating the way for pedestrians and vehicles.
