Firstly, it’s one of the original buildings at the V&A Waterfront. Through many transformations, it now rests as an art gallery. The Everard Read Gallery acquired the building for their new art gallery, CIRLA. Furthermore, the building had been used for offices and so the conversion through contemporary architecture used for this gallery, required opening the building’s spaces. Moreover, we needed to take into consideration the rich heritage aspects and historical context of the building.
