Kro Bistro & Bar: Elevating Street Food to High Art

Reimagining street food with a dash of haute cuisine, Kro Bistro & Bar amplifies the original concept of the Kro kitchen. The sophisticated bar effortlessly complements this culinary fusion. Meanwhile, the relaxed layout invites guests to take a seat by either of the commanding counters, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the preparation of their meals and beverages.

Echoing Past Designs: A Seamless Transition

Familiar motifs from Kro Kitchen and Kro Coffee make a triumphant return, now further refined and expertly blended. The overhead lighting, a signature element, integrates harmoniously with the ceiling structure. With the original soffit removed, a tangible line now separates old from new. Everything above this line remains unchanged, while below, a new era emerges.

Enhanced Visual Appeal: A Symphony of Light and Texture

We replaced the metal filling in the shop windows’ upper part with glass, inviting an abundance of natural light into the space. This simple alteration opened up the interior, adding an airy charm. Plywood joinery, sealed with a sleek black coat, lent a sophisticated texture to the milieu.

Preserving the Old, Embracing the New: Floor Refinements

As for the floors, we discarded the vinyl covering and polished the underlying terrazzo, which was left untouched. Any patches necessitated by new wiring and piping were filled with concrete, with a distinctive stone aggregate included (approximately 3/4 inch). This addition further highlighted the transformation, blending the charm of the old with the polished sophistication of the new.
